Applications:

Cetrimonium Chloride (CTAC), also known as Hexadecyltrimethylammonium chloride, is a widely used cationic surfactant. It offers excellent combined properties including softening, penetrating, emulsifying, antistatic, biodegradability, and bactericidal action. It has good chemical stability, resisting heat, light, strong acids, and alkalis. It appears as a white crystalline powder or paste/solid, easily soluble in isopropanol and water.

Main Uses:

1. Personal Care/Cosmetics: Functions as the primary hair conditioner agent, providing antistatic and softening effects in shampoos and hair care products. Also used as an antimicrobial agent and emulsifier in cosmetics.

2. Textiles/Fibers: Used as a softener and antistatic agent for synthetic fibers, natural fibers, and glass fibers; and as an auxiliary for the silk-like finishing of polyester.

3. Industrial Applications: Widely applied in the emulsification of asphalt and waterproof coatings, emulsification of silicone oil, and as a coating agent for organic bentonite.

4. Disinfection/Others: Used as a disinfectant (e.g., for silkworm rearing equipment), water treatment flocculant, and a corrosion inhibitor in the petroleum industry.
