N,N'-Ethylenebisoleamide is a synthetic wax.

N,N'-Ethylenebisoleamide is used as a lubricant, brightener, slip agent, anti-sticking agent and release agent in plastics, and an antistatic agent for cellophane. N,N'-Ethylenebisoleamide is suitable for internal and external lubricants of ABS, polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, nylon, cellulose acetate, polyvinyl acetate and phenolic resins; it is particularly suitable for polyethylene and polypropylene films. N,N'-Ethylenebisoleamide can be used as a pigment grinding agent and pigment dispersant, and a polyamide paraffin coupling agent. N,N'-Ethylenebisoleamide can improve the compatibility and heat aging stability of talc-filled polypropylene. N,N'-Ethylenebisoleamide can also be used as a melting point modifier for other paraffins and wax-resin blends as well as asphalt and tar.

N,N'-Ethylenebisoleamide has lubricating properties and can improve the performance of crayons, petroleum products, inks, asphalt, metals and textiles. As a mold release agent, N,N'-Ethylenebisoleamide can be used for thermoplastic resins in injection molding. N,N'-Ethylenebisoleamide can be used as a defoamer and waterproofing component in industry and household. N,N'-Ethylenebisoleamide is used as a corrosion inhibitor to form an adsorption film on the metal surface to protect the metal surface. It can also improve the compatibility of paraffin and resin, such as as an admixture for floor wax and shoe polish. N,N'-Ethylenebisoleamide is used to bond adhesive tapes to maintain smoothness and prevent adhesion. It can be used in coatings, enamels, varnishes and natural lacquers to increase the chemical resistance of coatings. N,N'-Ethylenebisoleamide is also used to produce oils and greases that improve friction properties, such as tractor lubricants, industrial greases, etc. N,N'-Ethylenebisoleamide is used as an intermediate for textile emulsifiers, softeners and durable waterproofing agents, and a foam stabilizer for household detergents. N,N'-Ethylenebisoleamide can also be used as a defoamer for iron acetate black liquor treatment, fabric dyeing, and latex systems in the paper industry.

According to the regulations of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, N,N'-Ethylenebisoleamide can be used in food packaging materials.
