Application:

1. Acetyl glutathione is the main endogenous antioxidant produced by cells, participating directly in the neutralisation of free radicals and reactive oxygen compounds and maintaining the reduced (active) form of exogenous antioxidants such as vitamins C and E.
2. Through direct binding, it detoxifies many xenobiotics (foreign compounds) and carcinogens, both organic and inorganic. These include heavy metals such as mercury, lead and arsenic.
3. It is essential that acetyl glutathione reaches its full potential, for example, (1) to regulate the presentation of antigens to lymphocytes, thereby influencing the production of cytokines and the type of response generated (cellular or humoral); (2) to enhance the proliferation of lymphocytes, thereby increasing the magnitude of the response; (3) to enhance the killing activity of cytotoxic T cells and NK cells; (4) to regulate apoptosis, thereby maintaining control of the control of the immune response.
4. It plays an important role in many metabolic and biochemical reactions, such as DNA synthesis and repair, protein synthesis, prostaglandin synthesis, amino acid transport and enzyme activation. Thus, every system in the body is affected by the state of the glutathione system, especially the immune system, the nervous system, the gastrointestinal system and the lungs.
