L-Tyrosine Disodium Salt Dihydrate can be used as a component of cell culture medium for routine cell culture and biomanufacturing of recombinant proteins and monoclonal antibodies.
L-Tyrosine is a polar, naturally occurring, nonessential amino acid that is incorporated into proteins according to the genetic code. It possesses a phenolic functional group. This phenolic function makes the tyrosine residue in proteins a primary receptor for reactions such as phosphorylation and dephosphorylation, which are important for cell signaling. It is also a precursor to various neurotransmitters and hormones.
L-Tyrosine Disodium Salt Dihydrate is a water-soluble salt of L-Tyrosine with improved solubility. It is used as a cell culture medium component for commercial biomanufacturing of therapeutic recombinant proteins and monoclonal antibodies. It is extremely hygroscopic and can be used in insect cell culture.
